A little far from the temple towards east “Mundu Thayyan” used to live, this earned the name “Mundiyan Thadam” gradually this name changed to Vengara,  The Bhagavati (Idol) Came to Vengara from Munniyoor (Kaliyatta Kavu).

Even during Hindu cast systems and untouchable (non Touchable) Practices era, This Temple was operated by and given all authorities equally to people belonged to all Hindu cast like Nair, Panikkar, Aashari (Carpenters), Thattan (Gold Smith), Kollan (Black Smith) and Scheduled Cast etc;, which show the unity of the Region and Temple

The Annual “Thalapoli Utsavam” (festival) is celebrated as an huge event with co operation of people from all religion, ” Kala Varavu” (Possession with effigy of Bull) and “Kodi Varavu”(Flag March) from different region gives a treat to your eyes
