Home crowd favourite and 2006 silver medallist, India, fought back to secure a 1-1 tie, after struggling to penetrate the Scottish defence in the opening stanza of the match. Scotland came out firing and Holly CRAM (SCO) made no mistake in converting a pass from mid-fielder Vikki BUNCE (SCO) to take a 1-0 lead in the third minute. In the 45th minute, Jasjeet Kaur HANDA (IND) slotted away a reverse-stick shot between the Scottish goal keepers legs, giving her team the equaliser.
