2010 Asian Games Fencing Events are scheduled between 18 November and 23 November 2010. Three types of event are playing in Fencing at Asian Games 2010 are Foil, Epee and Sabre. each events are plying as Men team, Men individual, Women team and Women individual
Fencing sport is a combat sport between two fencers. Only the end of the blade touching the opponent’s target area can the fencer score a point. The one with more points wins. Fencing consists of three events and target area and rules for each event are different. Foil Foil is a thrusting weapon only. The valid target is confined to the trunk excluding the limbs and head. Sabre Sabre is a weapon for cutting and thrusting. Scores are mainly cutting hits in competitions. Valid target comprise supper trunk, mask and arms. Valid targets are covered by a metallic jacket so that electric apparatus could distinguish valid and non-valid hits. The rule of right-of-way also applies in sabre fencing. Epee Epee is also a thrusting weapon only. Valid hits could only be made with the point and not the edge of the blade. Valid targets include the whole of blade. Valid target include the whole of the fencer’s body (trunk, limbs and mask).
Fencing events are played as teams and individuals.
